Standing over Alter Pond at Smuggler's Cove, the Death Pole is built from the remains of the stories we've lived. Moose antlers, skulls, bones, and relics from meals shared around our tables hang from the pike that watches over the water. It's part landmark, part folklore, and part warning that you've wandered somewhere a little different.
